Eco - School
Miss Todd registered our school for the Eco-Schools programme in September 2008. It is aimed at creating sustainable schools for the future. It encourages whole school action on environmental issues including:
- Recycling and waste minimisation
- Energy conservation
- Water conservation
- Litter collection
- Development of the school grounds for gardening and the conservation and creation of natural habitats
- Transport
- Healthy Living
- Global issues
Eco - School Awards
In 2009 - 2010 we achieved Eco Bronze and Silver Awards.
We are now working towards a green flag - the highest eco-school award.
Climate Cops
Climate Cops are a group of children from years 5 and 6 who encourage everyone to be environmentally aware. The photographs below show the Climate Cops in action.
Generation Green
Generation Green is a schools and community programme from British Gas, which encourages green behaviour through a combination of green lesson plans and rewards. Schools, pupils and their parents can earn green leaves which can be exchanged for energy efficient rewards to be used within school.
You can help our school to earn green leaves by completing an Energy Savers Report - just click on the link below to go the Generation Green Website www.generationgreen.co.uk. Each completed report and planner earns 150 leaves. We currently have almost 3000 leaves and are hoping to collect 11,000. Please donate your leaves to our school, postcode DL2 2SP.
