Judaism Workshops
During February, the children were involved in Judaism workshops.
Each group worked with a different teacher and produced a presentation based on their given theme.
Passover Meal
Children learn how Jews celebrate Pesach, the Feast of Passover.
They enact the Seder meal, which is the main part of the Passover celebration.
Finally they make a Seder plate and add illustrations to show how the six sections each contain a special food.
Children’s Seder Plates
Mezuzahs
Children make Mezuzahs and decorate the outer cover.
Scrolls and Ark
Children make scrolls and learn about the Ark (a special cupboard where the scrolls are kept).
They also decorate the cover which is used when a scroll is put away in the Ark; this cover is called a mantle.
Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles
Children create a Sukkah (a hut that Jews build and live in for a week to celebrate Sukkot).
Moses Art Display
A group of children create an art display of Moses in a basket hidden in the bulrushes.
His sister Miriam is watching as the Pharaoh’s daughter arrives.
Leavened and Unleavened Bread
Everyone got a share of the bread!
Thank you to Mrs. Leggott, who is the R.E Coordinator, for organising a super afternoon.
